Driller Helper
Assist operator with drilling unit to drill holes for piers and underpinning
Assist in the setup, operation, and tear down of drilling machine.
Manually handle heavy drill rods multiple times.
Observes operation to detect binding or stoppage of drill.
Replaces broken or worn parts, using hand tools.
Lubricates and cleans equipment.
Keep electric cables and water hoses clear of machine treads or tires.
Observes ground surface and machine operation for indications of unsafe conditions.
Collects ore samples for laboratory analysis.
Observes type of earth formation penetrated to determine need for lowering casing into holes to seal off water and prevent cave in of soft formations.
Records depths from which core samples are taken or depths at which piers are driven.
Other recorded information. Drill logs.
May replace bits as they become worn, chipped or lost.
May operate water pump to pump water down bore hole to cool drill bit.
Follow the driller’s lead to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
Traveling out of town or out of state with short or long-term stays

$24-31/hr
Requirements
Ability to lift 100 pounds + at one time, possibly multiple times daily.
Operation of grinders, saws, heavy tools, heavy equipment, vehicles.
At least 3 years of Drilling Experience or Similiar roles
Valid Driver's License
