Temporary Healthcare Contract Manager

  • This position plans, monitors, and appraises job results; Conducts training; Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures; Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations; Completes operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures.

  • Collaborates with Directors, Administrative Assistant, and Senior Leaders to improve the process of completing a contract. This includes updating current policies and procedures related to the process.

  • Assists Directors and Senior Leaders with the “Completing a Contract” process to assure timely completion of all agreements.

  • Reviews contract with Director to understand organization requirements and capabilities. Determines financial impact and financial strategy for the agreement.

  • Analyzes contract special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and organization corporate policies Determines if a Business Associate Agreement will be 

  • required

  • Suggests changes to the contract to mitigate clauses negative to the organization.

  • If the contract involves a physician, reviews fair market value calculations. 

  • Conducts a review of the agreement and/or BAA with internal or external legal counsel and the Chief Compliance Officer for the identification of additional issues and changes to the contract.

  • Contacts the contract originator to negotiate recommended changes, if any.

  • Develops solutions to complex contracting issues, which requires the regular use of ingenuity and innovation, ensuring solutions are consistent with organization objectives and in line with corporate contracting guidelines.

  • Once a final draft has been negotiated, gains the approval of the contract from the Director, Senior Leader, Compliance, and legal, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business or supply chain preferred with at least four (4) years in sourcing, procurement, contracting and/or category management within the health care industry with a broad transaction background in drafting and negotiating agreements across multiple areas of business preferred. Master’s degree preferred

• OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
